Starring: Strickler
Center Tenants
The Strickler Center is currently home to four independently run organizations: Community Compassion Network Food Pantry, Clothing INC, Ten16 Recovery Network Prevention Services and The Care Store. Guests of The Strickler Center are experiencing poverty at some level. Over 50% of Isabella county residents are either below the federal poverty line or are working but still unable to make ends meet.
The Strickler Center fosters strong collaboration among these key social service agencies in a shared physical space to reduce poverty levels in Isabella County over time.
Each agency has many financial needs that are generated by the process of serving hundreds of guests every week. These needs include purchase of products such as food, underwear, socks, personal hygiene items, household care items, etc.
Starring: HATS
Humane Animal Treatment Society (HATS) helps over 1,000 animals every year, providing food, vaccinations, veterinary care and a clean, safe environment while they await placement in their forever homes. In 2018 alone, HATS achieved a save rate of 92% and found forever homes for over 550 animals.
We also operate our very own Health Clinic which provides low-cost spay and neuter services for dogs and cats at greatly reduced fees for those that have limited financial resources. Our Health Clinic is the first of its kind in the area to offer low-cost services with the mission of reducing animal overpopulation in our community.
